Fab 5: Young Leaders Making a Difference in Their Community
Fab 5 is a dynamic and inspiring youth-led organization dedicated to supporting various charitable causes and local businesses in need. Their office is located in Phoenix Park at 2 Shaker Road, Shirley MA.
Founded in 2018 by Gabrielle Holland, then a freshman in high school, Fab 5 began as a venture under the United Way Youth Venture. Their initial mission was to raise funds for St. Jude Heroes in Memphis, Tennessee. Although they didn’t reach their original goal, the determination and spirit of Fab 5 were far from diminished. Claire Hefti, who joined Fab 5 as a sophomore in high school in 2019, now serves as the Vice-President. Under her leadership alongside President Gabrielle Holland, Fab 5 has grown and diversified its efforts to support an array of local causes. One notable project was raising funds for Ayer Valley Rehab and Nursing (formerly known as Apple Valley) showcasing their commitment to making a tangible impact in their community.
Fab 5 is always on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to help with fundraising efforts and event assistance. Their goal is to hold at least one fundraiser each month to expand their support to more organizations. During the summer, they are a familiar presence at the Shirley Concert Series, where they sell lemonade and cotton candy to raise funds. Looking ahead, Fab 5’s Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) is to branch out nationwide, extending their support and impactful projects across the country. With the passion and dedication of its young leaders, Fab 5 is well on its way to achieving even greater heights in its mission to help those in need.
